The Journey

If you have found this page, then I can only assume it is because God wanted you to do so.  One’s journey, the effort to understand and find God, begins with God, and ends with God.  He is the one who prompts your steps to seek Him and He is the one that waits patiently as you make your way toward Him.

What will this journey look like as you walk along?  Will it be like a long and winding road or like that of a maze?  A long and winding road is easy to navigate, and when on it you know that the journey began in Chicago and will someday end in Santa Monica.  Thus the route is predictable and can be planned with certainty.  This is not your journey.  A maze is puzzle that has many possibilities, many branches and choices.  There are dead ends and the possibility of failure.  This, too, fails to illustrate your journey.

Rather, your journey is more like a labyrinth. A labyrinth may look like a maze, but there is a big difference.  The labyrinth has one route that leads directly to the center, to God Himself.  So let’s begin this journey, let’s press in toward the center.  As we go along this journey, please note how often it seems to double back, but never cover the same ground, and note how it will keep you pressing toward the mark, the goal, the center, toward God Himself.

Day one of the journey begins here.
